Do You Have It?

What does it take to be successful online?

The same things it takes to be successful offline.

First, I’d like to tell you about my sister.  She was absolutely driven toward her goal of being successful, regardless of what anyone else said or thought.  She accomplished great success, multi degrees and teaching certificates and recognition in the career path of occupational therapy, and eventually became a university instructor.  She accomplished all that without ever having a drivers license or owning a car, she accomplished all that at snail’s pace, because she had been born with cerebral palsy, she walked much much much slower than everyone else and she also had some disability in her hands.  She used canes all her life since she was 2 years old, and into adulthood while walking to wait for public transportation.  She was extremely independent and fiercely determined.  My sister had relentless guts and focus every minute of every day, that was obvious since she was a teenager.  Just getting dressed and putting on her shoes was difficult, since she was a small child, but my parents tried not to treat her differently, she still had to do chores around the house just like the rest of us did.  We didn’t always get along, but we’d defend each other against anyone who badmouthed either of us.  She will always be my #1 hero for as long as I live.  She died suddenly in October 2009 at age 50.

What does it take to be successful?  Being a self-starter, longterm and daily motivation, inner drive, focus, and absolutely unswayable determination toward goals.

What does it take in online marketing?  The same things mentioned above, in addition to personal branding, which means using your photo and full name, if you expect to be taken seriously, use a photo of yourself, and your real name, if you want the recognition that’s due to you, you need to put yourself out there as yourself.

Unswayable focus and determination toward your goals.  What are your goals?  Put in the daily time, for the longterm, and don’t be swayed away from what you want to accomplish.  There are lots of obstacles thrown into our pathway, some have always been there, we need to get over the obstacles that are already there, such as our own fears or disabilities, whether physical or emotional drawbacks, and then also prepare ourselves to stay on focus every day and not be swayed by every new thing that’s put into our pathway.

Decide what you want, and stay on course toward it, relentlessly, daily and longterm, with your full drive, with your full maximum overdrive.

Do you have it?  If you do have it, other people will know you have it, it will be obvious.

There’s an expression, “Either ya got it or ya don’t!”  Some people always have “it” but they don’t use it.  Do you USE what ya got?   That’s the real key to success, USING everything you’ve got within you, daily and longterm, regardless of what other people say or think, regardless of any longterm or daily obstacles.  Do you have it? USE it!
