What are you NOT doing?

This is sort of a hodge-podge post about several different things.

Many of us “live” online, and completely forget about offline promotions.

15 years ago, before I got online, I was working for an offline mail-order book company that provided me with small sales flyers and directions to go to every laundromat, bowling alley, grocery store, and any other business that had a bulletin board, and post those flyers, and keep repeating that activity every week or every 2 weeks, and I did, and it resulted in sales of that book, and I got paid! 🙂  WOW!

We can still do that NOW!  We can create our own sales materials and print them out, and post them on offline bulletin boards and get leads & sales for our offers.  Some online companies have graphics for flyers, salesletters, and business cards in the backoffice area online, and all we need to do is print those out.

Another offline marketing method is “Testing & Rollout”, that’s a mail-order term for testing small mailings of different sales letters, and then “rolling out” with those that performed best.  I’ve been doing “Testing & Rollout” recently with several of my banners at NerdBux.  I’ve been testing many different banners with small amounts of impressions, about 2,500 impressions, to see how many clicks I get, and then try 5,000 impressions and see if the clicks double, and then 10,000 impressions to see if the clicks quadruple from my test of 2,500 impressions.  Then I ROLL OUT with the banners that got consistently high click-thru-rates in the tests.

Anyone who’s not using AdKreator yet, you’re missing out on a potential career-path!  I’ve built a fantastic design service at TopBizToday.com displaying the splashpages I’ve made at AdKreator!   I had to learn how to use it, of course, it’s different than HTML.  AdKreator is moving text & graphics around with our cursor, and choosing font styles & colors.   Look at the clip-art and shapes while you’re there, you can really do a lot with it!   This is one of my masterpieces: http://kreate.me/hrz  I first made the black splashpage http://kreate.me/EfG and then right-clicked to save it as an image, and then chose the rainbow background at AdKreator and uploaded the saved image of the black splashpage and reduced it into the center of the rainbow background 🙂

I learned HTML in 1999 and made a lot lot lot of sites, so many that people used to say I should concentrate more on promoting and less on web-design.  Here’s one from a few years ago that I edit occasionally: http://www.topbiztoday.com/adsource.html …that design is also good for displaying products, I made one featuring Tiffany-style lamps and watches when I was promoting “real products”.  Here’s one of my recent HTML designs: http://www.topbiztoday.com/universe.html

I hope you like those!  Have a great hodge-podge day online AND offline!  What are you NOT doing today to drive your sales?  You can start doing anything at any time and become successful at things you’ve never done before.  Start today! 🙂

Sincerely, Kathleen VanBeekom
